Orvis Fly Fishing Gloves

A run down of glove options for a variety of applications

by Wednesday, 20 June 2018

As the seasons change so do the items we dress ourselves in for a comfortable day on the water. As we lead into winter, down south we are thinking cold weather clothing but for those heading up north, or further afield in the tropics, it can be sun protection we require.

Here are two options from Orvis to protect your hands.

Orvis Softshell
Fingerless Glove

Fingerless design protects and keeps hands warm, but allows free and unhindered dexterity. Constructed from a windproof, highly water resistant soft-shell exterior to protect the user from the elements, the inside of the gloves are lined with 100% polyester fleece which helps wick moisture away while providing insulation from the cold.

The printed pattern on the palm offers a solid grip even when wet. Also available in Foldover Glove for extreme conditions.

Available in sizes S, M, L, XL.

Orvis Sun Glove

When out on the flats, your hands are constantly exposed to the sun while gripping your rod and line, and we all know that extended exposure can damage the skin and increase the risk of skin cancer. These sun gloves from Orvis have been designed with the fly angler in mind.

Utilising 50+ UPF quick-drying Lycra for a skin-tight fit and for comfort, the extended cuffs offer protection between your shirt sleeve and wrist. The touch of synthetic leather in the palm and between thumb and finger, for rod grip, works well and provides durability.

Available in S, M, L, XL.
